The Tree Answers

Once a poet, Tom Hennen, asked,
"Tree, give up your secret.
How can you be so satisfied?
Why don’t you need to change location,
look for a better job, find prettier scenery,
or even want to get away from people?"

Now, the tree Answers.
It whispers to me, with its lulling voice.
Resting on the giant roots, feeling extremely secure,
Let me make it loud.
Let me be the voice of the tree.

Yeah, I am satisfied because,
I feed someone daily,
I make them breathe,
I am the base stone of life's existence.
Who else purifies your breathing air more than me?
Still you think, I can do a better job?

Yeah, I can't walk, run or jump like you.
A glance of frustration.
But I am more close to mother Earth, the all-enduring.
The selflessness I absorb through my roots
makes me not to forget the roots.
That is enough to overcome that greedy glance,
the glance of frustration.

I, myself is pretty, no?
Then why should I go in search of a prettier scenery?
Everytime when autumn takes away my leaves,
I know the time will come to me as spring
to return my leaves and some cute smelling flowers.
Everytime when summer takes away the blood from my veins,
I know some time soon, time will come to pamper me
with its snowy white blanket.
That's hope. My belief in mother Earth.

The last thing you said is right,
I often want to get away from the people.
Too often these days.
Even my mother, yours too, wants so sometimes.
She is afraid, You are being too selfish.
Manytimes you got the signs, right?

You are killing my fellows, putting more burden into me.
You are killing my hope that the seasons change in order.
You are killing yourself, Humanity, The life and The Mother.
Here I am, fighting untill my last breath, to give her the shadow.
